The Chilean Festival of Miami is an event to celebrate
the independence day of Chile. Every September, since
2001, the Chilean community join to celebrate their national
day in a massive show with the best of Chilean traditions,
culture and many others artistic manifestations. The main
event for this special date is the Chilean Festival, which
is owned and operated by Altiro Productions and produced
by Michel Catalán, Ingrid Encina and Marcel Encina.
This year 2007 is the VI time, and this will be the Third
time at the Tamiami Park, a beautiful place for big festival
and expo fair, 50.000 capacity and located in the heart
of Miami, next to the Florida International University.
There you find typical food, craft, live concert, games
and a lot of kids and familiar activities. In the past
years we have been the visit of the best of Chilean top
artists like: Los Jaivas, Pablo Vargas, Miryam Hernandez,
Luis Dimas, La Sonora Palacios, Lucho Barrios, Pato Frez,
El Monteaguilino, Bombo Fica, Peter Rock, El Tufo, Pepe
Tapia, Chancho en Piedra, Maria Jose Quintanilla, Maria
Jimena Pereyra, Grupo Corteza, Cristian Norero, Volumen
Cero, and many, many more… As an important part
of the show we have the performance of Chilean ballet
and folk performances. We also have a special kid zone
and entertainment zone with games like, ping pong, taca
taca, billiar, etc.
To do this great event we always have the cooperation
of some Chileans profit and non profits institutions and
companies from Miami and some of politics and government
authorities, such us: LAN airlines, Chilean consulate
of Miami, local commissioners, Grupo Folklore Latino,
Sabores Chilenos restaurant, MCPro events and others,
We also have the value collaboration from the police and
fire rescue departments of Miami Dade County.
We invite to you to this beautiful event, an excellent
opportunity to know Chile, its culture and the Chilean
community of Florida.
